Meaning: of / possessive particle (indicates possessive)

When の is placed between two nouns, it can act as a possessive particle.
の is a particle used to indicate possession. This is similar to the English possessive ” ‘s “.

Noun A の Noun B = Noun A’s Noun B

For example
お父さんの机   /  おとうさんのつくえ　/　otô san no tukue  (Father’s Desk).
