Meaning: want to
You use たがる to say that someone other than you want to do something.

Formation:
Verb-ますstem + たがる/たがっている

(1)彼はだれでも喜ばせたがる / 喜ばせたがります。
(2)人類は貪欲に知りたがるものだ / 知りたがるものです。
(3)子どもは大人のようにふるまいたがる / ふるまいたがります。

(5)政府はマスメディアを統制したがる / 統制したがります。
(6)役人は権威を乱用したがる / 乱用したがります。
